As of the 21st of April, 2015, there will be a significant change to the way Google ranks websites. Since more and more people are accessing the internet via their mobile devices, and there are still many websites that are not mobile-friendly, Google will start to reward those websites that are mobile-friendly, and penalize those that are not. It is therefore very important for website owners to ensure that their site is mobile-friendly.

The best way to find out if your website is mobile-friendly is to use Google’s testing tool? https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

So how does one go about making a website mobile friendly?

There are a variety of ways to do this?

The best way is to rebuild the website from scratch with mobile in mind. Of course, this is not necessarily the cheapest option. The most common approach is to make your existing website responsive by supplying alternative styles based on the users screen size / device. Another approach is to build a separate website, which specifically targets mobile users. This approach is often used by websites that are structurally complex and static, and may have lots of content, thus making it impractical to convert.
